So here I am again, on the go. Today is the Solemnity of St Joseph, the husband of Mary, our Blessed Mother. The novena to him which I just completed was inspiring. Joseph has always intrigued me. His humble presence as a strong, chaste, protective leader in the family is such an amazing example. I’ve often wondered what it was like for him… married to woman he didn’t impregnate, protecting her and her child as if the child were his own, knowing by divinely communicated wisdom, that that child was in truth the Son of God! What an incredible responsibility! How very selfless and beautiful! He provided for, protected, nurtured, taught, mentored, and loved Jesus Christ, as His earthly father, and Mary as his virgin wife. The trust, compassion, and humility needed to be all he was, could only have come from God.
May each of us take on these beautiful virtues of peaceful and passionate devotion to our Lord. May we strive for the righteousness exemplified by Joseph, as we go through our lives, and be the example to the world that leads to much needed change in our hearts and our society. May we love one another in faith, truth, and respect. May we share the burdens our Lord carried as he carried the Cross of our Salvation to Calvary, and may we do so with the humility of Joseph.
St Joseph, terror of demons, protector of the family, example of the chaste, adopted father of Jesus…. Pray for us!!
I’m praying for each of you…Please, pray for me too! You are loved beyond words! ~ Mary
