Sundays are the best! I love my time in the true presence of the Lord, raising my voice in song, and the family time which follows and include precious hugs, smiles, and memories.
Today we celebrate my mom…perhaps the most influential human in my spirituality outside of Christ. Her influence has come in both subtle and obtrusive ways throughout my life. Reflecting on this, I can see that the most effective have been in her subtle examples of devotion to God and family, the living self sacrifice for the good of the whole family.
This is reflective of what Christ did… lived and died for us, always showing the way yet leaving us a choice… hoping His example leads us to choose that which is good and righteous. May we each live our lives in subtle abandonment of self for the good of others. May our lives shout quietly in the silence of darkness and evil.
St Joseph pray for us as we go through our lives together. Protect families everywhere, especially those facing the challenges of war and separation.
